Port-A-Cath: PAC

PAC
Also called reservoir. Small drum-shaped plastic or metal container placed surgically under the skin of the chest and connected to a vein. Blood and fluids can be taken out or introduced into the body using a special needle.

It is long-lasting and safe. It is not visible from the outside, only if palpated. It is placed by a small and simple surgical procedure that does not usually require more than a few hours of hospitalization. For its use and care, we recommend that you request from your nurse the PAC implantation protocol.
