Early detection, together with advances in medicine and research have made cancer survival rates double in the last ten years in this country, where 200,000 new cases are diagnosed every year.

MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid continues to fight cancer by making people aware of prevention and early detection and, therefore, with the European University of Madrid has organized an informative conference for its workers. At the event, Dr Raul Marquez, medical oncologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid, explained to those present what cancer is and the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle and of having regular check-ups to detect the disease early on, as well as not putting off a visit to the specialist whenever you detect any unusual symptoms to improve survival rates in the case the disease does appear.
